Upcoming Webinars

PENTRAN is a radiation transport simulation code similar to the MCNPX code from LANL. The team from the University of Florida will discuss the application of their code to dosimetry (study of the amount of radiation absorbed by a patient during therapy), and how integrating Tecplot 360 helps to accurately and quickly predict radiation exposure to patients.

The talk will also include details of comparisons with other simulation methods.

This presentation will show the use of advanced software tools to study the physics of airflow and how it impacts the performance of aircraft engines.

To understand the flow physics of cooling holes, researchers used CFD++ to perform a CFD analysis on a CAD model of a simplified engine blade that was tested experimentally in the UC Combustion Research Laboratory.

See how good visualization techniques can be used to identify and analyze unexpected simulation results.

Company & Product News

National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) http://www.nersc.gov recently purchased a multi-facility Tecplot 360 license for use by researchers on their High Performance Computing systems. Scientists from across the United States access these computers for advanced research on a variety of topics such as Combustion Modeling, Fusion Energy, and Astrophysics.

Tecplot provides the ability to easily visualize and manipulate 2- and 3-D data generated through monitoring or simulation. It is particularly well-suited for simulation post-processing.

I needed a product that was useful to me out-of-the-box — that’s why I selected Tecplot.” John Manobianco, Ph.D. ENSCO, Inc “Without Tecplot I’d be using GNUplot or something similar with limited functionality, and graphics that are far from publication quality.” John Manobianco, Ph.D. ENSCO, Inc Tecplot’s graphical user interface is very intuitive, making it quick and easy to create the graphics and visualizations I need.”
