Technical Writer
Tecplot, Inc.’s current opening is for a GUI-based software Technical Writer. This position is responsible for researching technical information, planning and developing content and organization of manuals, writing and editing original documentation, and inserting graphic layouts necessary for end-user software documentation. Must enjoy performing a wide range of tasks and working in a close-knit team environment where taking initiative is encouraged.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain GUI-based documentation
- Incorporate documentation of new features
- Continuously improve existing documentation
- Create and maintain tutorial videos
- Proof and edit marketing pieces
- Create and maintain on-line help files
- Prepare documents for electronic, on-demand and hardcopy publication
- Become proficient in Tecplot, scientific and engineering visualization software
- Provide feedback on usability issues
- Create new content by actively using product
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (engineering, math, science)
- 1-2 years experience writing tutorials, help files and end-user documentation
- 1-2 years computer programming experience
- Advanced Framemaker skills
- Genuine interest in communicating scientific information
- Team player
- Non-smoker
- Ability to edit and modify batch scripts

Marketing Manager
Tecplot currently has an opening for a full time Marketing Manager. This person would be responsible for creating our marketing strategy to assist in obtaining company goals. This individual must also be results oriented and have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities:
- Generate Leads
- Develop and execute campaign strategy
- GA product management
- Produce competitive sales collateral
- Manage – PR writer/consultant and ad placement
- Tactical marketing campaigns
- Define corporate branding
- Design and produce product packaging
- Develop and execute webinars
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Engineering/IS (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years Marcom management experience
- Experience developing campaign strategy – Traditional & Online
- Excellent communication skills – written & verbal
- Experience in close loop marketing and graphic design
- Advanced Excel and Access skills
- Intermediate PowerPoint, Word, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills
- Understanding of web development (HTML, CSS)
- Knowledge of a CRM application preferred
- Lives locally
- Non-smoker
